Comments

This Tanager eats fruit taken from some 33 species of tree, shrubs, vines and epiphytes. Fruits are usually swallowed whole. Insects are also eaten. Another feature of this tanager is that moult develops very slowly, the feathers being replaced one at a time, in contrasr to the simultaneous growth of 2 or 3 feathers in other species.
